Jenn Marcum
Greetings,
I am running for Monroe County Clerk of the Circuit Court. The County Clerk’s office is responsible for three things: administering the elections, collecting and disbursing Court ordered monies and maintaining the Courts’ records. As County Clerk, I will bring better equipment and better training by using the resources already at hand with collaboration of our local County and City offices.
I have lived, worked, and volunteered in Monroe County for 12 years. The first campaign I volunteered for in Bloomington was Mark Kruzan’s successful run for Mayor in 2003. With my husband of 15 years, Kyle, and our two children, Laura, 10, and Noah, 8, we spent many hours in the Democratic headquarters on Morton Street stuffing envelopes and answering phones for the 2004 Presidential Election.
Since my early campaigning days, I have accumulated a great deal of experience working for the good of the community, much of it directly with voting and the electoral process:
- Coordinated 8000 Early/Absentee Ballots in 2008 Election Cycle
- Worked for County Election Board and Voter Registration in 2006
- Serving as Democratic Precinct Chair since 2006
- Elected Democratic Delegate in 2006
- Polling Site/Clerk’s Office Election Day Worker since 2003
- Treasurer for Democracy for Monroe County in 2005
- Treasurer for the Mike Englert for County Commissioner campaign in 2004
While in Bloomington, I have served on over 30 non-profit boards, commissions and committees, including Middle Way House Builder’s, South Central Community Action Program (SCCAP), Shalom Community Center, and United Way of Monroe County. I am currently on the board of trustees for the Monroe County Historical Society and a volunteer at the History Center. I also am an early college mentor at Bloomington High School South for 21st Century Scholars and serving on the City of Bloomington Housing Trust Fund. I work for the Monroe County Health Department as a clerk.
My experience demonstrates a commitment to working productively for the citizens of Monroe County, and I want to be your Democratic candidate for Monroe County Clerk of the Circuit Court on May 4th, 2010. I look forward to applying my experience and involving the community for a successful campaign.
I cannot win without your vote.
Thank you for your support,

Jenn Marcum
